This is my Grandma, Iva Adams. I used to stay with Grandma & Grandpa when Mom was still working at school in the summer and fall.

I thought I knew Grandma until the day of her funeral. You see, all of her sisters were there and they started reminiscing about what it was like when they were girls growing up.

It was while listening to their tales that I came to realize that I didn’t know Grandma at all! It was kind of sad, but it was also very enlightening listening to the stories they told.

I came away with a whole new idea of who my Grandma really was. I decided that when I got old, I’d write down my story so my Grand kids would know me better. There is so much that is never said, and questions that are not asked until it’s too late to sit down and have a conversation.

Don’t feel like you have to read it! But I think you will be surprised by how different things were when I was growing up. You might even learn a few things about your Grandma as you were still very young when she left us.
